OK, here's my latest purchase

FUNKY GOOD TIME / The Freedom Jazz Dance Series - Pho Records (pHo-LP 8001)

I'll tell you one thing. If anyone is looking for definitive 70s jazz dance,
this is your ticket!
This collection is a collaboration of some of the best sounds from the Muse
label. These artists should all be familiar for Dancefloor Jazz collectors,
but the tracks might be new to you. You will find the likes of Harold Ousley
with "Come Get It, I Got It" (he's not joking either with his tenor sax, he
does have it!). Speaking of tenor sax, Willis Jackson lays a phat "Gator's
Groove". My personal favorite on the album is "Preachin' and Teachin'" by
Houston Person of "Houston Express" and "Soul Dance" fame. This also includes
an appearance from jazz great Idris Muhammad. Richard "Groove" Holmes drops
his "Ode to Larry Young" right out of 1980! (You would never know it though).
A great appearance from Gerald Smith on the guitar! Willis Jackson comes back
with vengeance on "Hello, Good Luck". Last and most influential comes Grant
Green with a Tommy Tucker classic "Put On Your High Heel Sneakers" with Big
John Patton on the keys.

If you pass up this gem of classic Freedom Jazz Dance.

You're thick in the head!

Peace,
DJ Mick Marsh
