OK, here goes, the worst song ID request in the world. Basically, there was this song out about last March, that, as far as acid jazz songs go, this one was actually well-travelled....I heard it first at Giant Step and it was definitely a crowd mover, then I heard it spinning by a bunch of classmates who have their own DJ/production outfit at my college's reunions in May, then I heard it on our local rap radio station in New York, and finally, in a cheezy long island bar! Unfortunately, it's an instrumental song, so it's going to be very tough to describe...but it's a moving bass, very cymbally beat, with the repeated phrase being provided by a piano, and the melody's rhythm looks like this....(the actual beat is a bit syncopated and moves from longer space beats on the kick at the first part of the phrase to eigth notes near the end if I remember correctly)

Melody tones: / ~ \ ( up maybe a m3rd to 2nd tone, then dn
Rhythm accents: x x X x a 2nd)
Beat: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

All right, that looks pathetic, but I'm sure every DJ had this song, and if you say this rhythm over and over dah.....dah DAH duh..... you might know what I'm talking about. The only reason I'm bothering to post this is because I love this song and after seeing some people post "The Bomb" as the four on the floor song of 95, as well as seeming to make references to it as a song that was well known, I figured it might be it, and found it randomly in a record store in Geneva on Monday....alas, it wasn't it but now I'm hooked on trying to find this song! If anybody can possibly offer a suggestion for this tune (Every time I heard it in the spring I said 'oh it's THAT song!') I'd appreciate it. Incidentally, "The Bomb" is definitely a club stomper but a wholly unsatisfying home listen due to the fact that phrases are repeated, oh, 32 bars before they change....

I must apologize for troubling the list with such an absurd and remote request. If I even get one suggestion to chase I will be very happy.
