I've had a limited chance to listen to "loungin" over the weekend. The
high point (one of many) for me is the horn solo on the first track. It's
the closest I get to nirvana. Both Beat Demons tracks are excellent. The
Jazz Not Jazz track is somehow bumpy and smooth at the same time (how they
do that?).

There aren't many low points although, the piano ad lib on "how ya' doin'"
is one of them (not that I could do any better).

Since I'm more into the jazzy sounds than the rap aspect of AJ, Loungin' is
the perfect cd for me. I was in Borders this weekend, no AJ there unless
you classify Buckshot Lefonque as AJ. Anyway, I listened to Chick Corea's
new one. About the only cut I liked was the second track, which featured a
total kick ass piano solo, the likes of which I haven't heard in years! It
reminded me of what I miss in AJ. Complicated, world class solo work.
Sorry for the ramble...

Loungin' features smooth grooves and the occasional solo. The textures are
out of this world...I'd at least take a listen if you don't buy it!--Joe
