In my beginning years of getting into (dare I say it?) acid jazz, a huge
number of bands that I was checking out seemed to have a tendency to play
one Herbie Hancock song. It was a song played by the Miles Davis Quintet as
well. Without venturing into my CD's I think the song is called
"Footprints." Though, I haven't heard the song in about 2 years by any
band, at the time I was beginning to consider it something of an acid jazz
(emphasis on the jazz) standard. I'm sure there are others ("Creator Has A
Master Plan" comes quickly to mind), but I don't have the brain power to
dive into it right now. Interesting question though.
