The CD in question is a trio date with Dr. Smith, John Abercrombie and Marvin
"Smitty" Smith. They do "Voodoo Chile", "Up From The Skies," "Gypsy Eyes,"
and "Purple Haze/Star-Spangled Banner." It's pretty damn good, but I must
say that it's not as mind-blowing as I would have hoped. Definitely worth
picking up if you worship the good Doctor and/or classic soul-jazz. It's on
MusicMasters, licensed from Venus Records (which I think is a Japanese
label).
