los angeles and phoenix aj clubs, bars, record stores

i will be going home to san francisco tomorrow, so i need a response as
soon as possible in the next few hours. i am going to be in los angeles
the weekend of the 30-31 (new year's weekend) and wanted to know if there
are any aj hangouts there. haven't been to los angeles in a year. i don't
suppose brass is still going on... and do any good gigs happen at luna
park?
also will be in phoenix the 28-29. any good record stores/clubs/bars?

if anyone knows, i will be here for the next five hours (and then will be
unsubscribed for the next couple of weeks). anyone with info, please
respond quickly -- anyone? anyone?
