..well, i didn't know anything about him till subbing to this
list and i saw this in the latest issue of Details, and thought
others might be interested in what he had to say...

point of origin: "i was born in san jose, ca. in 1972"
point of departure: a smooth 30-minute single called "what does
your soul look like?" from his forthcoming
album `Entroducing' on Mo'Wax.
(anyone know a release date?-me.)
sound: oceanic hip-hop meditation music, with live guitar and beats
washing over the studio trickery in gentle waves. "it's not
trip-hop, and ambient hip-hop isn't applicable because ambient
music has never been in my background. i was never a club dj;
i was always a bedroom-mixing kind of guy."
first record: "the first one i remember tripping off of was a snoopy
and the red baron record. i was bugging off the airplane
sounds."
image: none. no, less than none. "i don't think people need to listen
to the music i do and have me in mind. like a director-you could
have the biggest movie in the world and walk down the street
and nobody knows who you are."
what his soul looks like: nothing. "just listen to the record and worry
not about me but you. what does your soul
look like?"

peace / buddhahead.
