Some New Stuff (mebbe?)

At the station last night I saw the following:

Karmacome CD Single- Radio Edit, Portishead Experience, Origianl Edit,
and LP Version of Spying Glass. WAAAAYYY disappointing since the first
single (Sly) had over 6 mixes on 2 CD singles. The Portishead experience
is funky, though. Think Portishead/Dub/ and Hendrix guitar riff (?).

Channel Live- Sex for the Sport 12" Didn't get a chance to listen to it
though... :-(

Up and Down CLub Sessions 2: OK, so this has been mentioned before. I
was disappointed when I read the credits- I though it should be renamed
Josh Jones In Various Projects. But listening to some of the stuff-
(especially Josh's latin numbers) he's some wicked shit. I guess that's
another purchase I'll have to put on my list :-)

Hey- nobody loves me? I got two (2) telephone numbers..... Whassup
wi'dat? I'm LEAVING. Who knows when I'll be back. I will have no
address for two months... Nobody wants to hear from me? OK-
you don't *have* to offer your fridge and your floor.... Just a phone
number, and address. I might send you a card. Look you up if I'm in the
neighborhood. Sheesh. Talk about gratitude..... ;-) I'll just go and mope
now... :-(

PS. Listening to a Latin jazz show I did the other month... Irakere is
all that and yo mom's apple pie. But what happened to the grungy latin
jazz/rock of the 70s? Giovanni Hidalgo, Poncho Sanchez, etc are all
excellent, but they are so *clean*. I know that's the whole point, but
what happened to the Afro-Latin stuff, the rock-latin stuff?

Laters. I have to go sweat now outside in the 90+ degree heat....

Can anyone reccommend a good Jimmy Smith album to get? Also, has anyone
heard his new album "Damn"?

Thoughts please.
