June 21st in the longest day of the year!
And what a long weekend it was!

The On The One Anniversary Party with UFO, Kruder & Dorfmeister,
Takemura, Omar and everybody else was awesome! A wonderful feeling of
musical appreciation came over me agian after so long. The day was
great, full of new, experimental tracks to keep people moving. Great
percussion, jungle (I can't beliee I'm saying that!)wierdo futuristic
things and Rafael from UFO! Only drawback was that there wasn't much
jazz or soul - mostly electronic music.

Anyhow it was a fine day, well organized, great vibe, sun, organics,
good friends, Angel, Gerry V, Felix, Andrew, On The One Posse,
Bellisima, Impluse (New John Coltrane rereleases on vintage vinyl).

Anyone in the Colorado Area, go check out Hard Bop on Tuesdays with DJs
K-Nee and Aztec - a growing, bubbling sub-culture of jazz, hip-hop and
the mountains...

Friday at Cafe Du Nord - Anne Dyer and the No Good Time Fairies -
excellent experimental jazz, counter times, flat chords, female vocals
and twisted standards.

Also Friday 6/23 is DJ Takemura and Kruder & Dorfmeister at 330 Ritch
Street, plus Gerry V and Kirk and dinner nightly.

Sunday the 25th is the Summer Boat Party on the San Francisco Bay -
jazz, house, funk (DJ Roman) Takemura and more. Check out details at
Bullet Proof or Behind the Post Office.

Charlie Hunter Trio's debut on Blue Note "Bing! Bing! Bing!" came out
on Tuesday. I'd like to hear wht this list thinks of it. Especially
their unique cover of Nirvana's "Come As You Are"...

Peace
