I can understand this because when I started listening to AJ I wondered,
"What are all these DJ's doing here?" The answer is that they are expanding
the realms and limits of DJing, using turntables as musical instruments. By
the same idea it is quite easy to for musicians to use musical instruments
as reproduction equipment (eg cover bands who cover note for note) when
everyone who can produce music has the possibility of expressing their own
thing.

I happen to like Led Zep also. Don't flame them - they're not your average
cock rock band.

I have played jams with DJ's and those who are willing to join in tend to
have a lot better sense of what's going on than some of those playing the
other instruments (myself included).

I'm sorry everyone came down like a tonne of bricks on you but it's a sore
point among DJ's when musicians come along and say, "Hey you're only a DJ,
what do you know?"

It's also worth remembering that for every decent musician (I include
turntables as a type of musical instrument) there are a hundred useless
musicians.
