Sorry, I didn't post enough today! Here's some more:

Gordon wrote: "It seems like the interactive approach to performance is
really where it all started, back in the caves and all that. This practice
of watching and doing nothing but clapping at the end seems to me to be a
relatively recent addition to a long, long history of human
musical/artistic expression."

I like this thinking... it definitely felt much more natural dancing to
Orbital than to be standing and applauding. And what's with the tradition
of hiding backstage and coming out 2 minutes later for an 'encore'? This
definitely seemed silly for an electronic band. What if DJs did the encore
thing? Leaving and having silence in the club until the crowd called
him/her back on! (Now that I think of it, there are a few DJs I know who
would be into this idea...)

Also, I just got a new release update from the Island Group of labels
(includes Quango and Mo Wax US). Here are some interesting things listed
for upcoming release in the United States:

Howie B - Music For Babies 8/6
New Kingdom - Paradise Don't Come Cheap 8/6
Nearly God - Nearly God 8/13
Ronny Jordan - Light To Dark 8/13
Alex Reece - So Far 8/27 (Quango)
Cup Of Tea Compilation 8/27 (Quango)
Jungle Brothers - TBA Sept/Oct
Tricky - Pre-Millenium Tension TBA
LTJ Bukem Logical Progression Compilation July 23
Tricky - Tricky Presents Grassroots (?) August 6
Various - Mo Wax 'Basics' compilation September 24
DJ Shadow - Endflux October 8
Metalheadz - TBA Fall '96

Cool lineup... definite props to Island for doing some quality things. Not
bad for a major, eh?

PEACE 'em
