I saw them in Seattle last Friday. A pretty mellow show, they did
mostly tracks off the new album and a set of older, more acoustic works
in the middle. They had a drummer who faked all the breakbeat stuff
(and it looked damn cheesy) but played for real on most songs. Overall
not a compelling act to see live. What made the show for me was the
venue -- outdoors on a pier, warm breeze blowing, sun setting over the
city on one side and water on the other -- it made for a perfect summer
chill out mode when combined with Tracey's fantastic voice. If I was in
a club, I wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much.
