Just a quick response to Dirk - re Heights of Abraham

I totally agree, _Humidity_ is really disappointing. But I'd say the
Heights tracks on Taste of Pork are much better... so folks that heard
Humidity shouldn't be scared away from Taste by the presence of their 2
tracks (I almost was til Michael recommended it).

Now to Craig - re Fila Brazillia

Though I'd heard a couple of the singles, I'd never picked any up - til
I found them all together on _Old Codes, New Chaos_ and it got me hooked
(especially "Pots & Pans", my favorite FB track). You gotta pick that
one up if you're a fan of _A Taste of Pork_, although there's slight
overlap as both contain "The Sheriff". But then, so do half the mix
tapes I've got, it's a popular tune!

_Maim That Tune_ is excellent as well, though as Michael pointed out,
it's more downtempo. Usually I prefer uptempo... on the other hand, it
has the essential "A Zed And Two L's" which I guess I'd compare to K&D's
"Deep Shit pt1&2". (PS Pick up Bambi's mixtape for what I consider the
perfect leadout from Z&2L's into another track!) You've already heard
two other tracks from Maim: "Leggy" and "Subtle Body" are both on Taste
of Pork.

"Extract of Pineal Gland" is present on Quango's Abstract Vibes along
with Tosca, DJ Cam, Hunch x 2, etc. To tell you the truth, it probably
overlaps with your collection as well since a lot of its tracks are
appearing on new compilations. I know that _Journey Into Ambient Groove
v2_, now on Quango since Planet went under, also has more overlap (I
think Z&2L's), but I don't have it around right now!

Yet another Maim track, "Harmonicas are Shite" can be found on the
revoltingly ( ;) ) named "Triphoprisy" compilation (import on Squat
Records), but I'd say pick up Abstract Vibes first - it's cheaper and
well, better.

So why am I listing all these overlaps? I know your original message
was concerned with the $25 price of a FB full-length, and I'd say
they're totally worth it. But to anyone else who's reading, I guess I'd
recommend picking up the two full lengths rather than picking up A Taste
of Pork - you won't really lose anything by missing out on the other
tracks. Plus, Taste is more likely to show up in the used bins
somewhere and you can wait for it.

Oh and btw, I picked up Old Codes at Orpheum and Maim at Exotique...=20
$20+ each :(
