Joi and Joi Cardwell are two different female vocalists on different labels
with different styles. Unfortunately both are pronounced "Joy," which only
worsens the confusion.

I hear that Joi Cardwell's work on eightball falls more into the dance
category, while Joi, whose Pendulum Vibe was mentioned above, contains some
gorgeous acid jazz. Joi's new CD should be out any day now, and she's taken
an unexpected turn into hard driving rock, having worked with Fishbone on
the latest. The two women will probably never be confused again once this
one is in stores...
