Thanks for the comprehensive post. I can see I'm going to have
to spend some money soon.

BUT...I also noticed you are missing one of the "official" albums;
and I *know* it's official because I own it!

It's called "Maceo and all the King's Men - Doing Their Own Thing"
and was released by Charly R&B in 1970, reissued 1988.

The band listing is thus:

Maceo - Alto
Richard "Kush" Griffith - trumpet
Joe David - trumpet
L.D. Williams - Teno
Jimmy "Chank" Nolen - guitar
Alphonso "country" Kellum - Guitar
Bernard Odum - Bass
Melvin Parker - drums

The uptempo tracks are fantastic, but the slow ones booooring (IMHO).

In any case, a must-have for fans of JB funk.
