Gotta come to the defence of the hicks!^)

While being the first to admit about 90% of all country music is lame -
especially these days, it's a safe bet you could say that about that about a
lot of genres - give or take 10%!

Dusty Springfield (Son Of A Preacher Man), The Band (Cripple Creek), Ry
Cooder's "Bop Til You Drop" & "Borderline" releases of the early 80s and the
quirky Texas Swing of Asleep At The Wheel could all arguably be described as
"groove" influenced country stuff..........and don't forget about the
Meters, there was definitely some country in their funky bayou gumbo!!
