You may be right about them sounding a lot like Sly, but you must admit
they do have somewhat of a fresh element there. When I first heard it I
could tell that it was something that was new rather than 20 years old,
despite the obvious influences. I think it was the voice and guitar
riffing and overall mix of the music. there is a certain sound there.
I have several sly and the family stone albums on CD, and i fully
appreciate what they have done since they invented a lot. but that doesn't
change the fact that i currently pop in Dag more often than i do my sly
CDs. It is simply something fresh to listen to for a while.
