Had some for a while.. just wanted to send out some word and
contribution..

Groove Collective We the People
At least I know what my top record is for this year.. it's gotta be Groove
Collective's We the people.. hot damn! After reading Elison's review of
the concert.. I'm gonna have to track 'em down when they get back from
europe, and work cools down.

Sentinel
Spacey laid-back D&B by R.Parkes (aka Photek I believe).. it's alright.. I
don't really get into it. It's sorta along the lines of FB's A Zed and two
L's or K&D's deep shit.. but not as interesting

Donald Byrd..
After reading the props long ago.. I finally went to pick up some vinyl by
THE man! This guy was visionary. First came Caricatures.. that was baaad.
Then I went back and got Thank you for Funking up my life.. ba-a-a-ad..
now I have a new sealed blue note Electric Byrd.. I can't wait to throw it
on the table.. but something else is going right now.. can this guy fu*k
up a song?

Lakeside
Spinning "Your wish is my command" now so I can't play the Byrd album I
just picked up! This is alright.. circa 81 so you know it's almost on the
verge of being cheesy.. but there's some good funky tracks here.

Curtis Mayfield "Super Fly"
Super Bad! When I saw the cover, I knew I was gonna love this one! I'm
gonna have to go check out the movie now. The title song is one of the
highlights so far, but I haven't heard it enough yet to comment much more.

Well.. at least the GC comment qualifies for "acid jazz" whatever that
is.. ;)
