Farina is indeed one of the best at AJ spinning... his thing is he mixes it
like he's mixing deep house. AJ becomes a seamless journey with him. I got
to stand behind him and watch a set about a year ago and was amazed at how
he mixed songs that wouldn't seem to go together, and mix them prefectly.

I'm sure new Om employee CK might jump on here and tell you also, but
Farina is about to release a mix CD on Om called "Mushroom Jazz" (named
after his AJ night in SF) that is an incredible smooth mix of the sounds we
know and love.

And, for Florida folks, the Mushroom Jazz tour hits Orlando's Phat N Jazzy
on Tuesday, October 8th with Mark Farina and DJ BMF spinning. They will
also be doing a small club in Melbourne Beach called Dragonlady the next
day. I also believe there are dates without BMF in Tampa and Gainesville.
Be sure to check Mark Farina out if you have the chance.

As for me, I'll be in San Francisco October 10th-16th... I'll be doing at
least a few DJ gigs (Om Lounge on Friday and an On The One release party
that Saturday for sure)... I'll keep all informed.

Until then - PEACE

"There's an emphasis nowadays in hip-hop on how you're representing instead
of what you're representing. Think of the realms you travel to create what
hasn't been created- take it to where it hasn't been taken. Art can always
be improved upon. It's constant travel, so you can't really trip off it."
