well, i dont know jack about loop guru, but i have the new 12" called "the
bird" by tranquility bass. i dont know exactly when the album gets
released, but it has already shown up in the mail order catalog i
subscribe to. the album is called "let the freak flag fly".
"the bird" 12" has only one song, with some pretty fucked up art etched
onto the back side of the vinyl (pretty cool idea, pretty bad art) and the
track does have a pretty hippy bend to it. its got this really annoying
trite sample ("if you had gone up like you came down, you coul have come
down like you went up") but it doesnt saturate the song too much so you
can ignore it, and they do some cool layering ontology with it toward the
end that plays with its reversable reasoning. its got an instantly catchy
bassline, of course. all in all, it may not be worth the $6 it'll cost
you, since its only one song, unless youre some die hard tranq bass fan.
just wait for the album and rest assured it'll be good.
