I don't think it was a joke, as Gilles Peterson himself said, he came up
with the term 'acid jazz' with James Lavelle some 10 years back and got
tired of it later, due to the fact that the description is not accurate
enough and gives people (who don't know about the genre) an image of
jazz-type of music and most people don't understand jazz, so ... I think
that mr. Peterson seems to be pretty fed up with any kind of
descriptions concerning music, but people do need descriptions IMO.
Let's not get into this, please, these discussions never bear any
fruit...
