Well, that's a matter of personal principle and priorities there.
Personally, there's a difference between
getting paid as far as making a living, and getting paid as far as excess
(i.e. the six Ferraris). I consider the former important, but not the
latter. I do, however consider fame and recognition more important than how
much money I make, though. There's a large, deeply personal reason behind
that which I won't go into right now.

I understand what you're trying to say but it seems you already accept the
musical industry status quo; the American music industry (can't spreak for
those of other countries) is almost exclusively run by lawyers, not
musicians, not DJs, not people who have any hand in creating music. Don't
you think it's possible to change that? I do.

The "keep the music in your head" comment (funny crack
>by the way) comes off as incredibly ignorant.

Can you explain further, aside from "I disagree with this guy, so I'll call
him ignorant"?
There is also a 'hierarchy,' if you will in the underground scene. Within
any underground scene or movement, there is in itself a "mainstream
underground" and an "underground underground," isn't there?

Bro, not everybody that

You might be right, but then again *no one* will admit to having an "I'm
cooler" attitude regardless if they do or
if they don't.

I'm a dj and by nature want to

Again that's a matter of personal principle. Some people feel there is a
temptation, some don't.

I don't want a Ferrari. Maybe my own recording studio, maybe my own label,
but I don't give a F%*^ about fancy cars. I'm not Jay Kay, you know. :)
