the usual "what's happening" question:), about new york, between
august the 14th and the 24th (although i won't be in NY on the 19 and
20), and record shops as well, please!:).. i'm gonna stay next to the
village, i think..
new in Italy: a remix project of a very famous tune (called Ma nah ma
nah, if this name does'nt ring a bell, it will when you'll here the
theme), along the lines of the lounge thing, very much a la Dimitri
from Paris. There are 4 EPs, the covers work like a puzzle to build up
the picture of a girl with a seventies look (a bit like the girl on la
yellow 357, but not as beautiful:). the one i prefer is number 3, that
has two brazilian remixes, there is also a more jungle-orientated disc
that includes a remix by raphael sebag (UFO), a more house with a dj
smash thing (don't like that much), and another one i forgot...
i bought a few months ago the "hip hop don't stop" compilation, and
still like it a lot. at the time where those tunes came out, i was
listening to classical music ( :), is that to be considered better or
worse than those of us that confess they used to listen to hard rock
or new wave in their teens?), so that's the easiest way for me to get
these gems on vinyl!
