The Groove Lounge (http://www.groovelounge.com), in its continuing
Wednesday night series is proud to present,

*** Bentley Rhythm Ace and The X-ecutioners Tonight (12/3/97) 8PM EST***

The Bentleys Mike Stokes (a.k.a Michael Barrywhoosh), formerly of Pop
Will Eat Itself, and Richard March (a.k.a. Barry Island) met at a party
where Mike was playing some psychedelic pop tunes. A shared love of
yard sales led to the pair picking up loads of awful, tacky records
(usually called something "a go-go") from which to pilfer peculiar
noises. The resulting "serious with a smirk" Bentley sound is a manic
beat assault that slips and slides over sample-laden kitsch.

Self-described as "the overqualified but under appreciated blue-collar
superheroes of hip-hop," the X-ecutionerss (formerly known as the
X-Men) are counted among the best of the new breed of DJs bringing
turntable art to the next level. Using the turntable as their
instrument, they deftly blend phat beats and juicy hooks, often
creating a completely new song out of bits and phrases on other records.

Next Week - Wednesday December 10th, 8PM EST
