just thought I'd point every one to the newest issue of WIRE magazine
(alec empire cover). If you're in the mood for a big laugh, check out the
article on "neurofunk," some journalist's attempt at coining a
new pigeonhole for grooverider, source direct, matrix, and others.
(my favorite line, paraphrased because I dont have the magazine with me:
"Photek's modus operandi (incidentally the name of his album--that's *so
neurofunk*) is ..."
the guy's trying to say all these artists are gravitating towards the
"neurofunk sound." how can they be doing that if he made up the word
months or maybe even years after these artists were making the sound!!!!
its a blast, and I hope this guy gets as much hatemail as he deserves.
