Burning your own Compilation...

Well, I've taken a few minutes to look into this further. Ordering
special made comps for mail-order is just the tip of the iceburg. The
LiquidAudio folks and a couple other companies are banking on all of us
having CD-R drives on our computers and/or television sets. And the fact
is before long a recordable cd will be a standard PC/Mac componenet. When
that happens and a few other triggers are hit (modem/cable speeds etc.)
everything will change....

Uh-oh...just had a thought. Theoretically, labels and artists will see
dramatically increased income. What happens when the Insane Clown Posse
goes from making a $1.25 per "release" to making $10.00 per "release?"
What happens when Debbie Gibson, Suge Knight & the Wu collective become
billionaires? Won't that kind of stuff start affecting politics and
government?

In all seriousness though, I'd like to keep this thread going...especially
with you industry professionals chipping in.
