I saw Maxwell at the Forum in London last night and no mention was made about a
new album. He did a couple of new tracks but most of the material was from
'Urban Hang Suite'.

The gig was fantastic, at first there wasn't much audience participation and he
seemed to be on the stage by himself the other musicians were that far back, but
at the end they all introduced themselves. I didn't know any of them and none
really stood out as exceptional. Maxwell really got into the encore, had the
audience waving around, it would have been nice if he had got going earlier, but
I suppose the style of his music doesn't really lend itself to manic jumping
around, and the encore was the funkiest thing he did. Worth checking if he
comes to a venue near by.

Oh, in case you were wondering, the hype about him being kinda sexy is warranted
IMHO anyway! (although the ladies at the front did manage to keep their
underwear to themselves ;))

Hi all !

Just joined the list, so pls don't flame me if I happen to do anything
wrong... :-)

Some days ago I saw the last few seconds of a Maxwell live performance at a
French TV show, after which they flashed an album cover bearing the title
"La Nouvelle Soul"... Can anyone tell me whether that's Maxwell's new
album, or is it just the way clever marketers renamed "Urban Hang Suite" in
France ?... Also, if anyone has info on forthcoming concerts from Maxwell
in France + French-speaking Switzerland (or even London, since I happen to
be there once in a while), 'would be most welcome...

Cheers,

G.
