First of all I again want to encourage everyone that has heard something
fresh to send in review of their own. A few lines is enough to enlighten the
rest of us, right?

SUPERDISCOUNT (various artist - Disques Solid) Look for the yellow cover!

If the "house-innovation-centre" moved from New York and Washinton D.C. to
Great Britain last year because of the achievements by Matthew Herbert, Faze
Action, Jedi Knights and others, then in '97 it has definetely moved on to
Paris. I'm sure you already heard the sounds of Motorbass, Daft Punk and the
Sourcelab compilations but this one is something else.

Etienne de Crecy (one of the Motorbass guys) asked some of his pals to put
together a couple of tracks to show the rest of the world that the French
too know how to rock the dancefloor. And boy did they show us! From the
first wierd sample on "le patron est devenu fou" by Minos pour main basse to
the muffled drums on Alex Gopher's "Superdisco" these guys certainly
convinced me that house isn't dead just yet. Unlike some massproduction
house producers that find a groove and leave it on for ten minutes, our new
French friends show us what happens if you make music with your heart
instead of your wallet. Vive la difference!

By the way does anyone know if there's somewhere you can get a update on
what's happening on the french dance music scene.
