Spent the evening at the Tap & Spile (St Helens Street) where on
Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons they run a thing called "Out To
Lunch". Apparently the lineup changes from week-to-week, but this
evening there were three DJs - one guy who appears to be a major Ninja
Tune fan, another playing lots of classic 70's jazz-funk (Headhunters,
Blackbyrds, Ronnie Laws - you get the picture) and another who started
off with Fatboy Slim's "Everybody Needs A 303" (at which point I had to
leave to catch the last bus to Woodbridge :-( )
OK, so it's not Stealth - but if you're in the area it seems worth
checking out. Given the tenuous hold any sort of funkiness has in this
area, these people deserve our support.
