Hi list,

the song in the VW commercial is definitely TRIO with "Da Da Da". This song
is from a music era in Germany in the late 70's, early 80's which was -
called in German - "Neue Deutsche Welle" (New German Wave is the only
translation I can think of) with bands like Trio, Joachim Witt, Nena (hey
guys, you remember her "99 balloons"), Ideal, and many more. Trio's song
was extremely popular and they used to be a lot of times on TV in Germany,
performing their "Da Da Da" live with a singer (Gosh, I forgot his name
but he started a solo career after they broke up), a drummer and a guy on
this small Casio synthesizer (2 octaves). Anyway, please don't start a
Retro German Wave in America because I am too old for that s**t now.

Peace, Gilbert (gmg@hgc9.sph.uth.tmc.edu)
