I hope anyone and everyone who's heard of Mesh of Mind will come out to
their show at Moguls on Friday
the 14th. Why? Because I have just gotten word that MESH OF MIND IS NO
MORE. The band is apparently breaking up (although on generally friendly
terms) mostly due to the rhythm section's time dedication to the local
Latin-funk-hip-hop orchestra Ozomatli (they are also Ozomatli's rhythm
section). So this will be their FAREWELL PERFORMANCE! If you haven't heard
Mesh Of Mind, picture a group of Southern Californians in their 20s,
meshing the sounds of The Roots and Sly & The Family Stone, also slipping
in covers from The Headhunters, The JBs and George Duke, among others. They
have been known to bust out some impromptu jams out of nowhere and having
the crowd go crazy over it. Their lead female vocalist also sounds like a
cross between Maysa Leak and Carleen Anderson. They know how to bring about
a fun time, and they will be missed...9 p.m. Friday March 14,
Hollywood Moguls, 1650 Schrader (at Hollywood Blvd), 18 & over.

Be there.
