First album I got was Off the Wall, Michael Jackson, which in retrospect
isn't too much cause for pain, maybe even cause for some pride! Of course,
I can't gloat - I gave it away after a coupla years coz I decided it was
uncool (now I scamble thru bargain bins for this sorta shit).
Unfortunately this was followed by more dubious purchases ... the
soundtrack to Footloose comes to mind (ouch! that smarts...). Then came
Tears for Fears and the Thompson Twins (whassup Elson?!) - even tho
there's been some discussion of this sorta stuff recently, I think I'd find
'Rock With You' or 'Dont Stop Till You Get Enough' much easier to listen to
these days than 'Hold Me Now'
Like a few others on the list I partly came to acid jazz thru mod stuff -
lots of this was great, but does anyone care to remember some of the crap
we listened to in the name of mod? I remember paying good dollars for
singles by The Lambrettas...
