Hermeto is a very known character here in Brazil. He's actually the most
inventive and daring musician of this country.

>The percussionist had collected a large collection of what looked like
swiss cowbells(I bet he has been searching the Alps for years). He used a
lot of unconventional stuff like tools and kitchen gear. His only normal
instrument was a pandeiro.

In some occasion, they used living pigs and dogs to make music. And
ONSTAGE! I tell you, believe it or not!

A great show. I know that Hermeto was a part of the old quarteto novo,
together with Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. Does anybody know if there are
any albums by this group?

No, in Brazil very few people know about the Quarteto Novo, that's
forgotten since their demise, in 1968. Recordings of stuff like that are
very rare. Easier to find are recordings of their participation in one of
the many music festivals of the time, host by TV networks.

But if you want anything from Hermeto, just let me know and I'll provide
you. :)

Regards to Jerome and hope to hear from all of you acidjazzers
