There is nothing wrong with Master P or Bone. I think these are two
creative styles. Don't get me wrong, I grew up on the NYC style (Scott
La Rock, Run-DMC, Mr. Magic and Marley Marl) Philly style (Steady B),
West Coast when it was fun to battle against the East (early Ice T,
Egyptian Lover, Arabian Prince), a little of Miami (2 Live Crew, MC ADE)
and don't leave out the Southern Players (Goodie Mob--whose album just
dropped!!, & Outkast) I like rap of all different styles because they
go with different moods. I can't "bounce" on "The Message" but when "
Make Um Say Uggghhhh" is on in the club, crowd is pumped. I might
check out some EPMD when I'm mellowing out in the crib. I would listen
to Ice Cube or NWA when the man has got me down (just kidding). When
I'm driving on my way to work, "Miami Bass" is just the recipe. It gets
me pumped in the morning. I can also stand a little MC Solaar every now
and then. I must say that the Midwest and Southwest rappers have given
us a change from Hydraulics or the Timberlands. Now I can sport Versace
while driving a Lex with Tru and Vogues on it. I think all these
flavors can be MCed on jungle. Did you hear what Method Man did with
Prodigy? Remember Jazzamatazz 1 & 2?

Peace,

Boone

Subject: how to mc over jungle

dear list: The perect style to mc over Jungle with is the so
called
"country" style . This style was poneered by Midwest(?) groups like
Bone Thugs,Twista, and Crucial conflict. In the US Midwestern and
southern taste run tigether( MasterP babeee!) and they sound
country ,
hence he term. ven big mik was using it on his last album as well as
Do
or Die.. Since it involves rapping fast, and the track uses a fast
hi
hat pattern , The acapellas work over jungle and miami Bass and Do
doo
beats( "tickle me elmo"). I have 2 Bone thugs accaapllas, 2 crucial

conflict , one big mike (in this style) as well as other Bone-like
"biters". Instead of dismissing these guys, see this as opportunity
to
amaze your D n B audience by putting this in your set. Next time you

see some Mc trying to get on by copping the "bone thugs" steelo
,instead of dissing him ,invite him up to your room and make beats
for
him. The novelty of this in a dance context will make up for any
criticism that associaton with this most retrograde of afro american

rap styles might engender. I always like Bone and like(and Master P)
but
in some quarters this my not be a popular idea.
