Massive Attack-Mezzanine

Hey everybody...

I was fortunate enough to pick up the latest sounds of the Massive...Mezzanine.

Talk about dark. Talk about dub/acid jazz. Talk about downtempo.

Particular favourite: Teardrop, which sounds very Massive.

None of this stuff is danceable. Which is good. Excellent, as a matter of fact. Play this to a crowd of top 40 types who need an education.

I'm not really surprised that Massive Attack's moving in a darker, downtempo vein. With the Tricky influences (Tricky's here somewhere beneath the layers of sound) it's bound to be dark. Don't expect Massive's first album-triphop is all but a distant memory. The influences are there, though.

These are soundscapes to get lost in. Check it out.

I'm interested to see what the list thinks of Mezzanine.

Michael.
