A Question to the List about economics...

Hey AJ List-

Here's what I hope will be a good thread...

A couple of weeks ago, I was on the East Coast for business & all my
shit was stolen from out of the trunk of my rental car. Among the stuff
was my all purpose leather bag containing probably over thirty of my
favorite cd's, many of which were recommended by many of you. They
could keep the laptop, the discman, the circumaural headphones, the
shoes, the cellphone, and all the other crap, but the discs really
hurt... Now I gotta try to replace many of them...

So my question is- with all the tight music that flows through this
list, how do you guys AFFORD all these tunes, and how do you DECIDE on
what to buy? It takes so much time to evaluate every cut on every disc,
plus the tunes are frequently so complex that you have to listen to
every one all the way through in order to catch the hooks and changes,
etc. As you all know, sometimes you get hyped on a cut and the rest of
the disc is virtually crap. I'd like to minimize that sort of thing by
getting good data or good prices, cuz as you also know, those imports
are killa on the dolla! Muchos gracias in advance...
