I picked up the release: Azimuth -- Linha Do Horizonte / Aguia Nao Come
Mosca. I really enjoy it. It's funky. Heavy on the drums, bass,
keyboard/electric piano sound, not unlike the early Man Sueto releases or
some earlier Slide Five stuff. There is also a nice dose of funky wah wah
and even some Brazilian acoustic guitar (ala Charlie Byrd) on most of the
tunes. The part that really separates it from the other releases mentioned
is that it has an early 70's cheesy rock sound to it (I don't know how else
to explain it). Some of tunes sound like the Letterman. It's all very nice
and I'd give it an 8/10 - but I doubt it would be everyone's cup of tea.
