>Anyway, I've got a couple of questions for you. Who is V-Love (track is
"The Wilderness"), what has he/she done in the past, how accessible is
it? Who is Jalal (track is "Mankind (Part II)", what has he/she done in
the past, how accessible is it? Both of these cuts are
quasi-instrumental. A final selection is in the DJ Shadow/Funki Porcini
mode by a group called Bang Bang. The track is "Neither Sing Sing Nor
Baden Baden. Anybody know all that stuff about them? This disc is
going to become one of my all time favorites.<

V-Love is a british rapper/poet/musician who used to be in a group
called K-Creative. K-Creative were a jazz-rap type group who split
up a few years ago, but produced one great album on Talking Loud.
This is well worth picking up if you find it, as it includes Chris Bowden
on Sax.
Jalal was a member of seminal "jazzoetry" group the Last Poets. Most
of the old Last Poets albums are well worth checking out; look out for
the re-releases that are around, 'cause the originals are a bit pricey
these
days. If you get a chance to buy an album called "Hustlers Convention"
by "Lightening Rod", which was a joint project between the last poets
and Kool and the Gang, don't hesitate, this is a classic. Jalal now lives
in London (I think).

Hope some of this helps. If you need more info about albums from any of
the above, email me and I can give you some catalogue munbers etc.

Paul.
