The operative term: "imagined", ....it was implied that Roni Size Reprazent did
not deliver the "jazz" that we understand today to be jazz. Perhaps I left it a
bit vague: I don't think that New Forms is a jazz record. I also included in my
assumption that they "imagined" to have a "jazz" record by bringing up the fact
that they named one of their tunes "Jazz". Its merely an assumption though, for
all I know they had no intentions of making a "jazz" record. But then again I
was merely making a point toward the development of jungle and not necessarily
whether the instruments used contributed to making a "jazz" record. But maybe
that was lost. Perhaps my improper use of tenses: "imagined" and "comes
closer"...

You can't "wish away" personal taste. It IS one's personal taste that determines
whether one likes something or not. Getting a concensus has nothing to do with
it. I could not agree with your statement of the release being "uninspired"
but that's because of my personal taste and whether others find the same, has an
effect on my thinking, but it doesn't change it. I might say something like
"wow, maybe I missed something", but the fact that upon first listen I thought it
to be "interesting" is a factor of my personal taste...

I'll reiterate: Its "interesting" for the purposes for which I use it.

PEACE!
