McCoy Tyner's produced a few solo piano albums (I think one was called
'Revelations'?), which could fit over beats possibly - though he is/was
traditionally a very busy forceful player ...

however, there is one funky possibility to follow up:

"Asante" on Blue Note ... recorded 1970 ... the track is "Goin' Home" ...

the liner notes say: "Goin' Home finds McCoy in a rare moment of what might
well be described as funkiness, but HE prefers to earthiness" ...

definitely worth checking out if you can find it ... absolutely fantastic.
