I was at the SAME SHOW on Sat!!!!!

I was right in the VERY front-well actually front on by the key boardest. I
drove up from my home in Washington, DC to go see her with my friends. This
was my first time seeing her live and I must say it was an experience to
remember. I want to see her again when I can. She knows how to do a show. I
love her blend of Jazz, hip-hop, funk, and r&b. I liked her personality as
she keep joking around with the audience. The show was rather intiment
because we had to stand the whole show. I didn't care-I was close enough to
the sweat on her forehead and the key broadest (he had wipe the sweat off
the piano).

She played outside my door and then said a line from Brian Knight's
"Anytime"-I think her version was more beautiful. She mentioned that she
would have given him the song "if he had asked".

When she did the way and of course my FAV free my heart I was singing along
and I was VERY moved. VERY PHAT! It was just so beautiful to hear those
songs played live. I wish I could have recorded the live version of it. She
should do a live CD!!!! You could just feel the emotion off of Free My
Heart. She broke it down with that guitar solo on Free my Heart.

During Niggerman at one point whiel she wa explaining it looked kinda like
a ad-libed freestyle to the song.

She said that the record company was faking on her but her CD should be
coming out sometime soon. I had heard a date sometime in August at one
point from somewhere but I don't know. She played about 2 or 3 songs from
the new Cd. The CD is supposed to be all about LOVE (mehsell style). One
song she did was called "Loyality"-it was ok. I did like another song she
did though called "Truth". The tone and music of the new Cd seemed a lil
different than her last work but I have not really heard the whole thing to
make a real judgement on it. I am sure it will be very good.

yes, she did crack on LA peps where she lives as being "plastic". And a
colorful comment about us DC peps. I will point out Meshell is from DC too...

I would love to see her again and waiting for her new cd to come out.

BTW, Meshell has become a Soundtrack diva in that she on almost every major
movie soundtrack you can think of. She has been on Money Talks, Batman,
Love Jones as well as on the soundtrack for the new movie for the novel
"How Stella Go Her Groove Back"
