In 1998, we are getting force fed what to drink, eat, wear, see, and
listen to: MTV, Pepsi, Coke, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Sony, Gap, NBC, E,
FOX, WB, Hillfiger, any overpriced Clothing and shoe companies. And Hell
even BET. What happened to artistic expression (Blue Note, Staxx,
Impulse, Verve, Studio One,Sugar hill, Cold Chillin', Def Jam,
Cotillion, Mainstream, Cadet, Solid State, and Blue Thumb. I collect
records from mid-60's to late 70's Jazz, Funk, Soul, and Latin
especially, and I'm only 29. I feel the music back then had an honesty,
integrity, full of life, good vibes, and lots of SOUL! Now everything
the music business is one dimensional, cold, negative, lack of any
conciousness, and SOUL! Except half of Electronica: Drum and Bass,
House, Techno, Acid Jazz, Hip Hop, and Downtempo.is usually like the old
stuff. What I'm trying to say is If every one expressed there feelings
against BigMoneyFatCatBullshit record companies who make the artist sell
their soul to speak and then rip any sense of good vibes out of the
music and overprice and sell it to the masses!!!!!! We could do a whole
lot better. Like labels ie Ninja Tune, Mo Wax, Wall of Sound, Pussyfoot,
Talkin'Loud, Acid Jazz, Ubiquity, Luv & Haight, V, Full Cycle, Ram,
Moving Shadow, Looking Good, F-Jams, SOUR, OM, Cup of Tea, Rawkus,
Stones Throw, Nuphonic, Guidance, Peppermint Jam, Ovum, AM:PM,
Spiritual Life, MAW, and Paper recordings are the Quality stuff!!!! Fuck
the System, Let's DO IT OUR WAY!!!!!!!!!
