Eighth Dimension Update

Eighth Dimension
Tue, 3 Mar 1998 18:26:00 -0500

The heartfelt drama that is Eighth Dimension rolls through 1998 with all
sorts of projects and dilemmas ahead. We've opened up a management branch,
handling DJs and artists for performances worldwide. We've created a
publicity department to better promote our artists. We've formed a
relationship with World Domination Records in Los Angeles to manufacture
and distribute our releases in the U.S. We've contemplated buying a
cappuccino machine, to no avail. On top of all this, our artists remain
busy with their respective projects:

Q-BURNS ABSTRACT MESSAGE
The first major release for Q-Burns in 1998 will be a collection entitled
"Oueuvre", which will compile past tracks from releases on Mephisto,
Sunburn, and FFRR as well as some unreleased new things. This will come out
on CD and vinyl in May on Astralwerks/Eighth Dimension. "Oueuvre" is a
teaser for the upcoming "Feng Shui" album, which will be all new material.
Cassettes of progress on "Feng Shui" have been floating about to excellent
reaction. Future work on this album will feature some exciting
collaborations with other well-known artists, so stay tuned. Look for "Feng
Shui" the end of summer on Astralwerks/Eighth Dimension. Q-Burns will also
be DJing quite a bit, including stints at Winter Music Conference, South By
Southwest, Super Sting II in Washington DC, and another trek through the UK
by summer. Also look for upcoming remixes of Loop Guru and James Brown
("Sex Machine"!).

PIMP DADDY NASH
After his acclaimed singles on Mephisto and Delancey Street, the Pimp (AKA
"Daddy") is pleased to announce the completion of his album "Private
Leftfield Downtempo Fuzz". Preceded by the "Year Of The Pimp" 12" EP the
end of March, this album features the Pimp-le in all of his jazzy beathead
glory. The full album will be released this May on Eighth Dimension/World
Domination. This is so far only to be released in the US, and we are
seeking licensing for an overseas release or distribution. Expect Pimp
Daddy Nash to be all over the place, DJing and being the player he is. Also
look out for his upcoming remixes of Perfume Tree and DJ BMF. Contrary to
popular rumor, there will be no "Pimp Daddy versus Puff Daddy" record
(joke).

DJ BMF and DYNAGROOVE
Both of these artists are finishing up future EPs and full length albums.
Dynagroove's output is a chill funky house bit, with guitars and blunted
vibe intact. Initial tracks by this one man project have made all in the
8-D office dizzy with excitement. Meanwhile, on his record, DJ BMF flexes
his R+B/hip hop background to its abstract limits. It's turning into bit of
a 'sound system' affair with many different vocalists and instrumentalists
contributing. Also, look for an upcoming 12" release by DJ BMF on Mephisto
Records as well as his continuing DJ residency at Phat N' Jazzy, Tuesdays
in Orlando.

SELECTED MATERIAL
This Eighth Dimension compilation featuring all of the above artists and
more continues to be an outstanding success. Radio across the US has
embraced it, and the reviews pouring in have all been fantastic. You can
find this collection on Astralwerks/Eighth Dimension in the UK, and Eighth
Dimension/World Domination in the US. The US version of the CD is a double
CD at a single CD price, also containing the previous MIXED EMOTIONS
compilation. As with all Eighth Dimension releases, this features beautiful
cover art by Fredrick Barr.

WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE '98
Q-Burns Abstract Message, Pimp Daddy Nash, label manager Gerard Mitchell,
and co-manager Kim Fox will be wandering about Miami this year, acting more
important than they really are. Q-Burns Abstract Message will also be DJing
in Miami Tuesday the 10th at Zanzibar, with Mark Farina and Freaky Chakra
among others.

That's the scoop, yo. For more information, press kits, misguided record
business advice, and plea bargins, you may reach us at whatever numbers are
at the end of this page. AHHH-YA-PEACE!
