Couldn't resist this thread,
To me the Headhunters album is not fusion but the birth of Jazz funk.
You just have to hear Chameleon and realise the influence it still has
on music today- the break on "Blacker" by the Ballistic Brothers for
instance.

I would also argue Mike Clark was the funkiest white drummer ever..other
fave albums are "Secrets" "Thrust" and "Feats Don't Fail Me know". We
have some of these on vinyl re issue as well as "Straight to the gate"
and "Headhunters" (feat You Got it You'll get it- another milestone
track)
