I never said that. I also like lots of tunes that don't have melody, heck I
get off on a good sounding drum loop. It's just that waaaay back when this
thread used to be something else, someone wondered what was "missing" from
modern electronic music, and I suggested melody. Granted, there are lots of
electronic tunes that sound good with little or no melody, but there are
also many that would have sounded better with something more melodic. It's
one thing to write a song purposely devoid of melody, it's another thing to
write a song intending to put a melody in there but not knowing how to
write one, which, to join another thread going on right now, is also the
problem in contemporary R&B music.
