dont know what happend to them after this, but they did release some stuff
on a label named OPENTOE after the acid-jazz years... the ones I got is
"Rite To Silence" wich is a full length album and "Cracked ep" wich
(surprise surprise) is an ep (but with 8 songs on it). Actually, neither is
that good....
But, I do remember seeing the Sandals live here in Stockholm sometime back
in 92 (dont remember the year for sure). It was extremley interesting. They
were going to play in a quite big place (Kulturhuset for you who know it)
but the place never got packed enough. So they waited and waited until the
public transportation were quitting for the night, wich meant everybody
left. Then they started playing since they had to (or something...). Anyway
they played for about 2.5 hours totally giving it (seemed like most of it
was improvised) infront of a crowd of about 25-30 people. And it was
actually one of the best live performancec Ive ever seen.... too bad they
never sounded as interesting on record....
would be interesting to know what happend to them tho... for you who dont
know them they consisted of Derek Delves, John Harris, Will Blanchard and
Ian "easy" Simmonds.
