Alright, before I even read my e-mail today I've got to rave about the
show I saw last night. Metro Cafe in DC...the closing act for Taja
Seville (whose band stood in awe at the foot of the stage to watch these
guys). Groove Network featuring Natural Swinson...Some of you may
remember Natural from your Peace Bureau LPs. This band is f*cking raw....
so consider this a "heads up" kids. I can't compare them to anyone out
there these days. How to describe: Guitarist: Andy Summers meets the
Stray Cats with 3x the skills (no joke). Bass: Ethiopian dread playing
fusion/ethio-beat style....how can you be in-the-pocket and baroque all at
once? Don't want to call the drummer Steve Gadd or anything .... but its
refreshing to hear a drummer playing WITH the band instead of just behind
it..... Well, it'll probably be many months before they record/release
something ... but if and when it comes out I think many of you will
flashback on "Acid-Jazz" as it was when you first joined the list.
Don't sleep on these guys...

Oh, if you try to see them live be sure you get this particular line up.
Groove Network is a zillion different guys who play around DC.
