I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. My hip hop collection is mostly
pre 94'. I found so much of the newer stuff in to be either crap or just
mediocre, that i guess i gave up on trying real hard to find the good
stuff. But then i'll hear something on the radio and be like "shit! i
gotta have it." anyway... I dig that hit Missy Eliot track "the rain".
It's got a real dope bassline... And the bassline is even doper on this
jungle version of it i found recently. Highly recommended.

I have a friend who just bought a drum machine/sampler that's supposed
to be one of the original hip hop drum machines. It's an EMU Systems
SP-12. My question is, how much does one pay for one in good condition.
He payed $375 and is wondering if he got a deal. Thanks in advance.
