Hi Folks
If your anything like me you probably can't believe that it's September
already.
It's a busy month for everyone, hopefully it'll get cooler outside
because event wise this month is looking hotter all the time. Up soon are
the following three shows. As always we hope you enjoy ...

This WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 2
WALL OF SOUND IS BUSTIN LOOSE !!
coming in direct from the UK to celebrate their domestic US release the
WALL OF SOUND crew throw a full-on bash featuring:

The Big Beat phenomena shows no sign of stopping itıs urgent and
insistent takeover of America. Tonight one of the UKıs very best posseıs
Wall Of Sound take over NYCıs The Cooler for a night of full-on mayhem as
only this off-the-wall UK crew can.

Les Rythmes Digitales
is the brain-child of Jaques Lu Cont who takes
major inspiration from the early-Eighties synth pop of Howard Jones,
Yazoo and Kajagoogoo as well as the more streetwise sub-bass tones of
electro. His track ³Jacques Your Body ( Make Me Sweat )² from the first
domestic W.O.S album ³Bustinı Loose² will be out soon as a single.
Heıs also an in-demand remixer whose recently dosed-up cuts for
Pavement, Cornershop, Placebo and DeeJay Punk Roc. His second album
³DarkDancer² is due imminently via W.O.S and features a guest appearance
from electro God Arthur Baker.
³Les Rythmes Digitales are going to be massive² Muzik UK

Alex Gifford - Propellerheads
needs no intro. Following the overwhelmingly
positive response to the debut Props album ³decksandrumsandrockandroll²
and his successful DJ set opening for Fatboy Slim at the AMP 2 party,
Alex will be dropping a beaty set of phat oldies and spanking new tunes
like the Props own new single ³Velvet Pants.²

Touche - The Wiseguys
the masterminds behind the catchy demolition derby
jazzy breakbeat smash ³Ooh La La² ( one of the highlights of ³Bustinı
Loose² ) Touche is a highly regarded DJ in the UK where heıs gotten props
from Fatboy Slim and Mo Waxıs James Lavelle. Keep your ears peeled for
the forthcoming Wiseguys album ³Executive Suite.²

Mark Jones
should be a familiar name to those who read the UK dance press
where heıs often been cited as the ³caner of the year² - whatıs that ?
well letıs just say Mr.Jones likes to paarty paarty. When heıs not knee
deep in fun heıs busy running Wall Of Sound the label he started and
when the paperwork and parties prove too much he can be found in the
studio recording as E-Klektik.

Surprise Guests ...
well it wouldnıt be a surprise if we said

Lunatic Calm
after an aborted spell with MCA , this UK duo signed to City Of
Angels to release their storming debut album Metropol. To quote their
press agent ³Lunatic Calm isnıt all boy band looking to out testosterone
their presumed competition - theyıre a unique electronic rock band,
telling a dynamic story through...agressive rock Œnı
techno....psychedelic.... fever pitch breakbeats...²

DJ Taylor
La based producer / DJ Taylor is a mainstay on the LA Trance
scene. Heıs also been building a reputation worldwide with strong DJ

***
mid-month is a club night none of you party animals will want to miss

Together for the first time in New York the legendary Drum N Bass Duo

FABIO and GROOVERIDER
with MC FLUX

Giant Step and LEVIıS are pleased to bring you the stunning New York
debut of drumınıbass
legends FABIO and GROOVERIDER. The duo both started out playing on
London pirate Radio
station Phase One way back in early 1987. In those early days of Acid
House they were as
responsible for breaking funk, soul & hip-hop, as they were house and
techno not only on the radio, but through the many underground Warehouse
parties then prevalent.

They were also the key residents at Rage, the club that many, including
Goldie, have since cited as the breeding ground for todayıs Drum Œnı Bass
scene.

In 1994, Fabio was also partly responsible for starting the infamous club
Speed, that gave
rise to the development of more ambient and jazz based Drum Œnı Bass.
Right now, Fabio has another new London club night, rapidly on the rise,
called Swerve.

Also, he and Grooverider are both residents at the regular Metalheadz
club nights.
Radio-wise, they now have a joint show on BBC Radio One, the biggest
radio station in the UK.

As if that wasnıt enough they both have their own record labels for
developing new talent - Prototype for Grooverider and Creative Source for
Fabio. Prototype released a compilation album ³The Prototype Years² last
year via Columbia and Fabioıs Creative Source is getting set to drop a
compilation next year. Both of the labels reflect their owners distinct
styles with Prototype on a dark and heavy bass tip, whilst Creative
Source is on a sweet jazz tip. Over the last four years both labels have
proved to be key to developing sound of Drum Œnı Bass by
sticking to quality, creative music of the highest order.

Grooverider has also become a pivotal producer in his own right with
remixes for 808 State, Roni Size and other becoming a standard at every
Drum Œnı Bass club. His debut full length album ³Mysteries of Funk² will
be out domestically via Columbia soon.

This legendary duo are famous for their joint excursions into clubland,
yet theyıve never played New York together. In fact, Fabio has never
played in the US at all, making this a very special evening that no fan
of creative club music will want to miss. The duo will also be ably
assisted by the on the mike skills of MC Flux.

Opening up the night will be local heroes DJ Dara from Breakbeat Science
and DJ Blueline
from the Mathematics crew. Also expect our traveling listening station
and give-a-ways
from LEVIıS and GIANT STEP and posters, stickers and T-shirts from MILES
A HEAD.

Join us in celebrating #2 of 18 of the Miles A Head series
@ The Roxy, 515 West 18th Street - 10 pm till 4 am.
