Actually, that is how I got into trip-hop: by developing an addiiction to
the cold slow electronic pieces by new wave bands like New Order and
Mecano. That tradition kept going all through the eighties and nineties
with bands like Single Gun theory and, more recently, Laika. However, I
would never call that music trip-hop because it lacks the jazz/funk
element (which makes the topic appropiate for an Acid Jazz discussion
list).
